Over the next few days I will be uploading my designs for the 2011 Pre-set Christmas cards. This year I am doing something a little differently...I will offer "pre-set" photo cards in which you can change the layout, color and wording at no additional charge but the design stays basically the same. You may choose any new card design OR a previous season's design. All card prices include a 4C printed front and back (unless otherwise requested) and return address on the envelope or return address sticker if you have color envelopes!

Pre-set prices:

50 to 74: $2.25 ea.
75 to 150: $2 ea.
151 to 199: $1.75 ea
200+: $1.50 ea.

50 card minimum.

I will also be offering a completely customizable photo card designed to your specifications. These cards will have color front and back and return address on envelope (or return address sticker if you have color envelopes) included in the pricing as well.

Custom prices:

50 to 74: $2.50 ea.
75 to 150: $2.25 ea.
151 to 199: $2 ea.
200+: $1.75 ea.

50 card minimum.

All orders placed with deposit by Nov. 20 will get a 20% discount!!!

Wedding - Mary Kate Davis

Mary Kate is another bride who wanted a consistent "look" to use throughout her stationery suite and beyond. A logo is great for individualizing your event and putting your stamp on everything from your paper to your accessories such as koozies, napkins, hotel bags, etc. We came up with a quirky emblem and then added one block and one script font that were used everywhere . Mary Kate sent out a save the date that set the mood and introduced her logo to her guests. We used a lavendar on the save the date, which was pulled from Mary Kate's floral color scheme and also added a playful element to her suite.

So, yes, I know that I have been a terrible updater this past year. Besides keeping up with my adorable child, Mrs. Neillie Butler of drum roll - you guessed it! - Mariee Ami has kept me so busy. We have worked on numerous weddings together in 2011, creating everything from placecards, to logos to adorn koozies and napkins to full stationery suites. Sidenote: I have SO SO SO much other great stuff that I have been working on that I would love to post as soon as my child sleeps through the night or I get un-lazy. We'll see what happens first.

SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE!

Now that all Christmas cards have been signed, sealed and delivered, I thought I would share William's birth announcement with you. I worried over the design of it for months... I designed about ten others before he was born. I figured that someone who specializes in this needed to send something really cute but couldn't really come up with anything. Once he arrived, though, and I learned his adorable little personality, the card designed itself. Even though he doesn't look much like this anymore, the photo captures his spirit perfectly. And if you know me at all you know I am all about some puppy dog tails - so that worked out great, too.

I am looking forward to helping you introduce your little ones to the world in 2011!

William Gregory Baugh was born on Sept 8, 2010 at 12:50 pm. He is a blessing to our family!

RDCD, LLC will officially be closed unless we have discussed your project otherwise. We will reopen for business on Oct. 25 but I will be checking email and corresponding with you periodically, should you need something.

So I know what you're thinking...That I have been a huge slacker over the past couple of months. Yes, that is partly true because I have been neglecting my blog, but in reality, I have been super busy designing, designing, designing! Besides my usual stationery and invitations, over the past few months I have been developing corporate identities for companies, designing logos and posters and invites and tickets and web buttons for the Junior League's Bargain Carousel, really digging in to my partnership with Gather Weddings and Events and doing lots of summer soiree invitation work with Bradley Arant Boult Cummings.

I have a million and one things to share with you from 30th birthday celebrations at the lake to weddings to baby showers to children's parties, etc. Please take a few minutes to look through what I have been up to lately!!

Growing up, I loved a carnival. It was the perfect time to eat all the cotton candy you wanted and enjoy {crazy and rusty, too} rides such as the Zipper and the Gravitron. I was recently asked to design a carnival invitation and the finished product turned out pretty cute!

Because the ferris wheel is so adorable, I came up with a shirt that coordinates perfectly.

I apologize for not updating sooner, but I have been busy getting ready for my debut to the "public." I will have a booth set up every 3rd Saturday from June until September at the Ross Bridge Fresh Market. The Fresh Market is a marketplace for local people to sell their homemade and homegrown wares. In addition to produce, the FM boasts lots of great local talent - including RDCD. Please come out and see me! I will have my custom books to order from, as well as some pre-packaged stationery - foldover thank-you notes (8 for $10), and notecards for kids and adults (10 for $12) - and adorable children's t-shirts and onesies that are razzle dazzled. My sister will be selling her original artwork from my booth, too! She will have some great affordable pieces for all of you looking for something to spruce up your home. So come to the Fresh Market and support your local artisians, farmers, crafters, seamstresses, bakers and candlestick makers!

Around the holidays my alter ego is Jolly Ole. St. Marvelous (lean your ear this way...). This stems from an old college nickname (Marvis) and has evolved over the years with my love of Christmas. Well, 'Tis the Season and now is the time to consult with me about your holiday cards. I recommend getting a head start on your design, even if you don't have your photo ready - I can always add your photo in later.

Pricing & Timing

Now that I have steady business, I would like to provide some pricing and timing information to all of you Razzle Dazzle lovers!

Invites take about 5-7 business days to print once they are approved by the client. (Obviously this is in ADDITION to the custom design process which can take anywhere from 1 hr to a few days, depending on the information given to me) I use a commercial printer rather than an ink jet or what you might have in your home office. This seems like a long process, but I proof each piece for color, typos, size, etc. before it goes to print to ensure your final product is perfect. If you are a procrastinator and wait to order your invites, don't fear, there is still hope - although it does come is a pre-packaged box. If you are in a bind and need something quick, you are welcome to look through what is up on the site and use something I have already created (This cuts down on design time but printing is generally the same - occasionally I can rush something but it will still take at least 2-3 biz days to print). I can also have the envelopes shipped directly from the factory to you, which gives you some time to address them before your cards come in.

Moving on to pricing...

First things first...I ask for a deposit of 1/2 of the total up front, payable by cash or check. If I design something for you with your party information and specific requests, I fully expect payment for services. This can be discussed in more detail when we talk about your order. The remainder of the total is payable upon receipt of the final product. I expect to be paid in full upon pickup of the order or as soon as you receive your package if you are outside of Bham.

All of my prices include envelopes when applicable. The prices are pretty general - the only change would be if you wanted to add ribbon to your invite or use a unique envelope or something that I don't normally stock or use (All you lined envelope fans - this means YOU! :) ).

I have had a lot of requests for imprinted return addresses on envelopes. This is totally possible, but the vendors that I use ask for a minimum order of 500 envelopes and is a pretty steep additional cost. Contact me directly for more exact pricing.

Shipping is also an additional cost. I usually use ground shipping and it is between $10-$15 per package depending on the weight of the order. If you want overnight, that can cost up to $50 extra per package.

The following enclosures are for a great, great friend of mine who is so sweet to always let me test out my creativity on her. This time she did specify to tone down the colors a bit as I am known for loving the bright colors. If you see one you can't live without, or one you would like to tweak to suit your fancy, hit me up. They are running $25 for 25 cards or $40 for 50 cards (Shipping is not included in the price, but I will be happy to send them anywhere you would like).

An another note, I have continued my reading trend on into the heat of summer. If you are looking for a fantastic book and one I LOVED, check out James Frey's (author of A Million Little Pieces & My Friend Leonard - also favs of mine) Bright Shiny Morning. It is 500 pages long but I absolutely tore through it in about 48 hrs. It is worth every penny of the $20 it is selling for at Target (And worth the weeks on the waiting list if you check it out of the library like I did).

Look at these adorable save-the-dates! These are just 2 of the 7 options I sent the bride - the chosen one had a big chompin' Florida gator on it. I thought this was such a good idea for die hard college football fans! I would be happy to customize these in any team colors OR try to incorporate your mascot like I did for Kibbe & Tad.

So...I know y'all think I have been slacking off this last month. But the truth is, I have been busy working on various freelance projects (read: ads for the Birmingham News Mtn Brook/Homewood Wedding Guide), catching up on some reading (I have read 12, yes TWELVE, books in the past month - there are some great books out this summer!) and invites for surprise parties. And though I really doubt that the people who are going to be surprised read this blog, I thought I would wait until the parties have passed. Until then, here is the debut of my new logo. The old one has been around for a few years and to be honest, is just kind of big. It just wasn't working on the back of my invites. Here's a little razzle for that dAZZle!!!!!!

It must be the time of year to move! We have a new next door neighbor and several houses on our street have recently gone up for sale. The economy may not be doing so good but it seems to be a perfect time to get into the house of your dreams. Which brings me to my latest client & project...A "We've Moved" card! I have never met Beth - she comes to me by way of Feesh Cakes (aka Katherine Grace) - but she sent me some photos of her family's new home as inspiration for her card. Their house is absolutely amazing! It is modern, funky and extremely beautiful. I had so much fun coming up with these cheeky and very nontraditional designs. I only hope these cards are unusual enough to do the Bailey's fabulous new house justice!

The sun...the heat...the tan...you just can't beat it! Summer is my favorite time of year and I can't get enough of 2 things...Colorful sun dresses and the beach (or the pool, the lake, etc. You get the picture.) To honor the warm weather, I have been working on some really bright and funky invites. More specifically, I have been working on some invites for a local law firms' summer recruiting parties. Hey Friends!

Sorry to disappoint, but I don't have any new designs to share today. I just wanted to post and say thanks for stopping by. I really appreciate all the support and encouragement from everyone - and the increased business has been nice, too. A few weeks ago I put the blog stalker up to see just how popular I was, and I think it speaks for itself. If Razzle Dazzle was a senior at DHS, she would be voted "Most Likely to Succeed."

I do have a a couple of new projects for a law firm in town and look forward to getting those up here soon. So stay tuned!

I am not. Although my stationery is super cute and super fun to work on, my day jobs have not been very glamorous. Right out of college I was a designer for an Industrial Machinery business to business magazine, then a creative designer for a direct mail ad agency, and then I was a designer for Intermark Group ad agency. Ok, that's kind of a lie. The agency has several parts (PR/Interactive/Creative/Automotive) and I was a designer for Intermark AUTOMOTIVE. Yep, that's right, I designed car ads & collateral all day. So I guess that's kind of how Razzle Dazzle was born...In order to keep my creative edge (and sanity), I had to design something my style in my spare time.

Wedding season, that is. Business is really picking up! Yea! Today I am sharing some invites I did for a Stock-the-Bar party for a friend of Lucy Thompson's. I am really into the typewriter font lately, as you can tell - it is really clean yet still fun, which is what I am all about! I am also digging on the square invite with the small blue dots & big green dot - this is the 3rd time I have used it!! (Obviously I am the only one who loves it because no one else has chosen it! ) It is SO simple which is totally something I never do, so I think I am loving it just because of that.

First it was StalkerBook and now it's blogspot...I know, I can hardly believe it. I said I would never join either and here I am. It IS for a good cause, though. Until I can get a website up and running, this blog will serve as a promotion tool for Razzle Dazzle!
